This TWS video series produced by the Huffman brothers, was created a expose low production handmade snowboards. As a part of the Snow Craft video series, the second episode featured here, highlights two Japanese snowboard shapers.
Taking snow riding back to it’s roots, these craftsman create boards that favor the type of terrain and ethos the Japaneses have in their backyard. TJ Brand’s broads shaper Yosuke Nishida, explains that contest riding has come to dominate what the Japaneses people view as the focus of snowboarders. This however is not true and these shapers wish to take the sport back to when it was a hobby, one that’s based on fun. A activity of passion where the rider flows through the mountains leaving little trace while participating with the natural surrounding.
