After a lack luster season, the Northwest held onto the riding right to the end. Mt.Hood received three spring storms, delivering deep, heavy, wet spring snow well into May. Kelso, Nikki and I rode out the last day of the season with a morning of May powder. These clips of Kelso and Nikki show them powering through the heavy slop before it turned to hot potatoes pow. The morning was a welcome surprise for us, provided a glimpse of hope for more powder next season. By 1pm, the sun was out and the snow become too thick to ride. We were left with this short edit to savor the flavor through the summer and fall.
iPhone photography from Kelso. A reminder that I ride, but I’m usually behind the lens. I had a great day powering through the chop on the stiff, YES Pick Your Line 161. It’s a killer board that knifes through the northwest hot pow.
