“Junuary” round 2, 2015. Another tough season in the Northwest means another Junuary has come and gone. Rain days instead of snow days left us waiting for sunshine to ride the Meadows’ park. In late June, I mean January, Kelso, Rager, Nikki and I got a nice day of park riding through the newly extended Vista terrain park. Two jump were added, giving us the first scares of the season hitting booters. It was a fun day relearning how to ride park features for the 2015 season.
A few scares were had by all. It was a close call who took home the prize for best slam. Rager and I both went down (back to back), on a corrugated tube that we had ridden many times. I slapped down face first, leaving my hand crunched and tweaked for weeks to come. Injury or no injury, park riding makes an icy day way more fun. Getting through the fear and landing a nice spin over a high speed booter is such a rewarding feeling. When we reached the parking lot. I was too soar to ride anymore, icing my hand but so stoked on the day. The accumulation of tricks landed throughout the day adds up to a greater whole. I walked way feeling accomplished. On the drive home, I could tell Kelso and Rager were feeling the same way.
At the end of the day after I fell, I took a few shots of Kelso and Rager riding the upper park. More park riding shots to come, hopefully later in the season after we’ve ridden some pow.
